Lifting weights and tonight this song came on during my deadlifts. It fired me up. It helped me to envision my daughters taking their Jiu-jitsu classes and being able to fight!

Hear me out my friends before you decide to loathe the fact that this song fires me up. I am a patriot though perhaps not in the same way that you may be. Hear me out friends. Though "if you don't understand don't even bother to ask."

Born a fighter to a line of fighters on my fathers side and survivors of disasters on my mothers side.

From birth I had to fight for my life, no pulse no breathe, where was my hikwsi? My WILL to be, my Will to survive.

A mother who has grown up with a fatherless past...

a child who has heard the stories growing up with vietnam vets...

a survivor of molestation...

a woman who was going to join the Army...

a survivor of the aftermath of hurricane Katrina....

"Come along follow me as I lead through the darkness
As I provide just enough spark that we need to proceed
Carry on, give me hope, give me strength
Come with me and I won't steer you wrong
Put your faith and your trust as I guide us through the fog
To the light at the end of the tunnel
We gonna fight, we gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna march
Through the swamp, we gonna mosh through the marsh
Take us right through the doors"

This is what I am to my family, to my children, to my husband....

I am the matriarch I have the spark that we need to proceed, to carry on, to give hope, to give strength. No I wont steer my family wrong.

They put their faith in me as the matriarch, "I give sight to the blind, my insight through the mind
I exercise my right to express when I feel it's time"

My family trusts in me as I have and will continue ti guide them through the fog...To the light at the end of the tunnel. We fought and we charged, we stomped, we marched through the swamp and we are going to continue to mosh through the marsh.  I will take my family right to the doors. I am the matriarch, I am the dakini.

We have been there before where "All you can see is a sea of people some white and some black
Don't matter what color, all that matters we gathered together
To celebrate for the same cause don't matter the weather
If it rains let it rain, yea the wetter the better
They ain't gonna stop us they can't, we stronger now more than ever
They tell us no we say yea, they tell us stop we say go
Rebel with a rebel yell, raise hell we gonna let em know
Stomp, push, shove, mush,"
